Butyl acetate （BTAC) is a flammable, colorless transparent liquid with pleasant fruity smell. It is an excellent organic solvent with the formula CH3CO2(CH2)3CH3. The acute toxicity of it is relatively small, but it has strong irritation to the eyes and nose. It has good solubility for cellulose acetate butyrate, ethyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber, polystyrene, methacrylic resin, as well as many natural resins such as tannin extract, Manila extract, and Dama resin.

Applications
