The plasticizers mainly include aliphatic dibasic acid esters, phthalates (including phthalates, terephthalates), benzene polyesters, benzoates, polyols, chlorinated hydrocarbons, epoxides, citric acid esters, polyesters and so on. At present, thousands of plasticizers have been developed and produced in the world, of which 300 ~ 400 are more widely used, and about 100 ~ 110 are produced in China.
Many medical plastic products such as catheters, infusion bags, etc., also contain this substance. There are more than 100 types of plasticizer products, which have been used since the late 1920s, and phthalates quickly replaced the smelly and volatile camphor used as a plasticizer at that time. In 1935, with the industrial production of polyvinyl chloride, phthalates were more widely used and gradually became the main body of plasticizers, accounting for about 80% of the total output of plasticizers. This kind of plasticizer has good water resistance and oil resistance, colorless transparent oily liquid at room temperature, difficult to dissolve in water, easy to dissolve in methanol, ethanol, ether and other organic solvents. Plasticizers, including phthalates, are petrochemical products that can only be used in industry, are not legal food additives at all, and are toxic, so it is prohibited to add them to any food, drugs and health products.
